5 MINUTE MOTIVATION FOR MBBS ASPIRANTS

Are you preparing for MBBS entrance examination? If yes, you are in a right place here.
I am Saroj, an intern doctor at IOM. While I am saying this, I remember my entrance preparation time. I have done my plus2 from St. Xaviers College.  I had started preparing for it since I entered my 12th joining premedical session at an institute here in Kathmandu. I made it to IOM as a fresher.

Anyone who gets selected here at IOM will tell you that their entrance journey was not that difficult and it holds true in my case as well. Let me tell you one thing first. Entrance preparation is all about your motivation of becoming a doctor along with your dedication to do anything to achieve your goal. 

I guess,you must be in one of the three conditions: 

1. You are not motivated at all to prepare for entrance however you are just trying to attempt it once believing in your luck. If that is the case, let me make you clear, it is nearly impossible for you to get it there. I am not demotivating you, but that is the reality in itself. 

2. You are highly motivated and dedicated towards your goal. You are studying hard for it. Believe me, nothing and noone can stop you from becoming a doctor.

3.You want to become a doctor. You are studying for it. You feel lazy at times, gets frustrated at times, but you have one thing that I had, and that is A STRONG DESIRE. Let me tell you. This happens to everyone. When I was preparing like you, I had several thoughts going on in my mind. To overcome it, I made a simple formula that has led me to success and get my place in IOM. I will share that formula to you.

I made my schedule that included just 3 things broadly,viz, Eat, Sleep and Study. That's all I did during my preparation. You see, studying is all that you can do for IOM. So, either I studied, or I ate, or I slept. Nothing more, nothing less. I told myself that social media, gathering with friends, visiting Pashupatinath, etc. can still happen after my selection. This schedule may sound impossible, but I have done it and you can do it as well. 

Tell me one thing, what is stopping you from studying? Whatever it is, put it on side, otherwise it will be a reason for you not becoming a doctor. Is that your mobile phone? Switch it off. Are they your friends asking you to go out and chill and time pass, constrict your friend circle. Is that you yourself who don't feel like studying? Tell your that self, that you are not going to be a doctor any soon. Or, motivate yourself that you need to do this. You need to study. You need to study hard. You need to be a doctor. You need to make your parents proud of yourself. You need to do something for this country. You need to serve the humanity. On top of it, you need to do this to live your dream life as a DOCTOR.

Finally, to tell you about the resources, I attended coaching classes, studied their notes and took many tests. These days you can get the tests online and that is awesome. IOM and IOE Entrance Preparation page on facebook could be the next platform where you can take exams regularly.

TIPS OF GETTING MOST OF IT FROM MEDICAL COLLEGE EXAM PREPARATION

Follow the syllabus Medicine is an ocean. You cannot study everything. It’s a fact. You have to be jack of all. Don’t leave any topic even if its not high yield for exams. Make a schedule categorizing all the topics and the day you will study them. It will help you as at the end of the day you will know whether you finished for the day or not.
